National Facility for Protein Science, Shanghai (NFPSS), Shanghai Advanced Research Institute (SARI), Chinese Academy of Sciences,  Collaborative Computational Project #4 (CCP4), Collaborative Computational Project for Electron cryo-Microscopy (CCP-EM), ShanghaiTech University and Chinese Crystallographic Society (CCrS) with overall coordination by Ruslan Sanishvili (Nukri) of King Mongkut’s University of Technology Thonburi (KMUTT) (Formerly at the Advanced Photon Source, Argonne National Laboratory, USA) are organizing the Joint CCP4 and CCP-EM Shanghai School in Macromolecular Structure Determination with X-ray Crystallography and Cryo Electron Microscopy.

 

Experts from the UK, Germany, Netherlands, the USA and China will teach theoretical foundations of macromolecular crystallography and electron cryo-microscopy; will provide training in software and in experimental aspects of both methods. Selected students will acquire hands-on experience in Cryo-EM sample preparation and data collection. Participants with crystals will have the opportunity to collect diffraction data at the Shanghai Synchrotron Radiation Facility (SSRF).
